ANCIENT CITY OF ANURADHAPURA
The ancient city of Anuradhapura was built by King Pandukabhaya 2380 years ago.
Anuradhapura became the Capital City for 1500 years. This City is a popular destination for Buddhists and it is home for a large number of monuments of Sri Lanka.
There exists the most famous dagoba of Sri Lanka.
There are ruins of Palaces, temples, monasteries, ceremonial baths etc. in Anuradhapura.
In the City of Anuradhapura there exists the holy Bo Tree which was grown from a sapling of the Bo Tree under which the Buddha attained enlightenment in India 2500 years ago.
